Today, enterprises are faced with the challenge of betteraligning the IT investment with their strategic direction.This is especially true for CIOs of the enterprises. In thispaper, we propose the concept of Business DesignIntegration that is a systematic approach to verticallyintegrate a number of Business Design related activities,ranging from strategy formulation, business redesign, tothe redesign of operations environment. It also providesbetter communication mechanisms for different rolessurrounding the CIOs. Role based analysis is critical forour study of Business Design Integration in this paper. Toillustrate how to realize the proposed approach, weintroduce the prototype of Business Design Portal as atool to facilitate the communication amongst peopleresponsible for various aspects of Business Design.
